Why Didn't They Tell Me?

Updated: Sep 26, 2023

The other day, my sister told me that her friend is super frustrated and upset because she can't lose a pound, despite exercising like a crazy person and not eating much.

Her friend said, "I'm going to have my doctor run every blood test that I can" (since her deductible has already been met) to figure this out!

As my sister related this story to me, sadly, I knew her doctor wouldn't run the most valuable tests to get the answer she was seeking. Why? Because she is "healthy." She takes no medications, is super active, and she's in her 50s.

Traditional doctors are trained to metaphorically "put out fires." They excel at acute care but are not trained in prevention, diet, or nutrition. The necessary labs for preventive measures may not be run by medical professionals for several more years, if ever.

So, what would I have recommended??

The 2 MOST IMPORTANT LABS

For a healthy, long life

  • A1C (Glycated hemoglobin)

  • Fasting Insulin

90% of my patients have a problem with one or more of these tests. (Yikes!)

Optimal levels for these tests are crucial for good health. And it's SHOCKING how frequently they are subpar.

A1C, or glycated hemoglobin, reflects your average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months.

Fasting insulin, measures the amount of insulin your body produces when you're in a fasting state. In a healthy body, insulin levels should be quite low. However, elevated levels create weight-loss resistance and a host of other problems.

Any elevation in either of these tests will have significant consequences on our health—whether it's causing notable symptoms now or down the road. They will. It's just a matter of time.

Such consequences are:

- Damaged blood vessels and organs

- Heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and nerve damage

- Chronic inflammation

- Weight gain (and a really difficult time losing weight)

- Hormone problems

- Infertility

- High blood pressure

- High cholesterol

- Cancer

These tests are so important, I've figured out how anyone can do these most important tests AT HOME for a little over $100. (Many labs charge 2X or 3X this price!) All you need to do is prick your finger to obtain a few drops of blood. You send in your sample to the labs. They email YOU the results.

If one prick of your finger could change your destiny, this is it.

These specific tests can detect health issues that may be developing 5-20 years in advance. Everyone should have them done, even if they consider themselves "perfectly healthy."

Early detection allows for proactive steps to be taken (and oftentimes, they are REALLY EASY to improve!).

So, don't be daunted by these lab tests!

Embrace them as valuable tools in your pursuit of a healthy and vibrant life!

Here for you,

Dr. Julie

P.S. These tests are also available with a routine blood draw. If you have an upcoming appointment with your regular doctor for bloodwork, make sure to ASK for these super important labs! (And keep me posted on your results!)

P.S.S. Please share this email with friends and family. You do not need to be a patient of our office to order these home tests. This information is just TOO valuable to let any obstacles get in the way!
